because like seriously no one can trust any of these social media sites to be a reliable source for amassing any sort of list of customers or people interested in your brand or art or whatever. they are a company who really doesn’t care about anyone other than as a vector for profit so why not attempt to break that reliance and place it in the hands of yet another company albeit one geared specifically towards such a thing like a newsletter etc. that requires the connection and support of yet another company. perhaps even the company involved in the making of this very webpage. maybe more. how many companies are enough companies to enable one to promote themselves on the internet. how many are required.
